Our Story

Lizo was sitting in a car with his friends in Braam one day when he spotted a 'special something' in the side mirror walking past.

After seeing her, without thinking twice, he told his friends, "I'll be right back."

Little did they know he'd be gone for a while!

Yoliswa agreed to stop and chat with him in the foyer of the South Point building, and they exchanged numbers afterwards. Lizo thought he had done enough to earn a date.

He was sorely mistaken😂

For months, Lizo called and texted while Yoliswa expertly avoided giving him a chance. Fortunately for him, persistence paid off. Eventually she agreed to get to know him better. What started as a chance meeting in Braam slowly turned into late-night conversations, laughter, and a growing connection. Before long, there was only one thing left to do:

Go on a first date.

After months of convincing, Lizo finally got Yoliswa to agree to a first date.

He planned dinner and a movie.

Yoliswa, being a student at the time, decided she was going to help pay for the date and arrived with some money she had put away.

For some reason, her savings happened to be a huge collection of coins! More than enough, but in the form of coins!?!😂

Fortunately for her, Lizo had no intention of letting her pay.

The coins never saw the inside of a cash register that day, but they did become part of a story that has followed them ever since.

As it turns out, dinner, a movie, and one very determined student, basically carrying around a piggy bank🐖 made for a pretty good first date🥰

After years of dates, memories, milestones, and plenty of laughter, the two decided to take a well-deserved holiday to Cape Town.

What Yoliswa didn't know was that Lizo had a much bigger plan for the trip.

Somewhere between enjoying the sights, making memories, and soaking in everything Cape Town had to offer, Lizo found the perfect moment to ask the most important question of his life.

This time, Yoliswa didn't make him wait for months.

She said yes.

And just like that, the young man who once jumped out of a car in Braam to introduce himself to a stranger became her fiancé.

Now, surrounded by family and friends, they're getting ready for their next adventure together.
